A man accused of witchcraft and being the brain behind various calamities in a village in Ebonyi State, was given a rough time as angry villagers swooped on him, set his house ablaze, before banishing him from the village.

It was gathered from South-South News that the 35-year-old man, Paul Nwafor, was set upon by youths of the Enwagba Enyigba community in Abakaliki Local Government Area of the state on Saturday, June 4, after he was accused of using witchcraft to suppress their progress.

The youths, allegedly led by their leaders, Uche Oroke and Livinus Akpuru, the home of Nwafor and set the house on fire after which the banished him from the community.

They also burnt were the man’s yam barns, tricycle, also known as Keke Marwa said to have been given to him by a friend, domestic animals and other valuables.

Narrating his ordeal to newsmen, the victim said a group of boys stormed his home on the fateful night and accused him of money ritual and other fetish acts and threatened to deal with him.

He disclosed that he was ostracized from the village and banished from visiting or transacting any business with anyone or group in the local market.
