According to an eyewitness, Prince Ifeanyichukwu Emmanuel, the ugly incident which occurred along the New Market Road in Onitsha, the commercial nerve center of Anambra State, saw the soldiers descend on the handicapped man and flogged him to stupor.

Emmanuel who posted the incident and the attendant video on his page wrote:

"What a wicked world.... Military police brutalize a cripple man today at New Mkt Rd Osha.... Just because he was on military camouflage!!"

Many Nigerians and human rights activists have also condemned the action of the soldiers with a lawyer and the Director of Due Process Advocates (DPA), Barrister Emeka Ugwuonye, also lent his voice to the brutality of the crippled man by the soldiers.

Read what Ugwuonye posted on his group's page:

"WHY NIGERIAN ARMY IS ONE OF THE WORST IN THE WORLD

In this footage, the Nigerian Military Police are brutalizing a poor cripple and street beggar just because he wore a cloth that had the military camouflage color pattern.

An army that can attack a cripple, it is obvious that Nigerian army cannot fight any armed enemies of the nation. DPA shall protest this horrific act. We shall demand that the two soldiers be punished and removed from the military."
