Man beats mom to death in Enugu

A man has been arrested for allegedly beating his mother to death because she did not prepare food for him.

Murder so cruel

A middle aged man identified as Chidi Agbo of Ette Center in Igboeze North local government area of Enugu State, has been arrested by the state Police Command for allegedly beating his own mother to death because she did not keep food for him on April 27, 2015.

According to the reports, Agbo who is said to be over 40 years of age, lived with his aged mother who fed him and still gave him pocket money. It was also gathered that his mother had even married a wife for him but his lazy attitude drove the woman away when she could no longer cope.

On the day of the incident, it was learnt that Agbo had gone out to drink with his friends in another village and came back home at around 1am and requested for his food from his mother who was sick.

But the mother reportedly told him that she was sick and could not prepare any food that night. The obviously drunk Agbo allegedly descended on his mother and beat her to a pulp before retiring to his own room to sleep.

The lifeless body of the woman was discovered in the morning by neighbours with bruises and since only she and her son lived in the compound, he was apprehended and handed over to the police.
