A young man suspected to have stolen a motorcycle in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, has been lynched by a mob.

According to eyewitnesses, the man had snatched the motorcycle from an 'Okada man' (commercial motorcycle rider), and was riding away on it when the man raised an alarm and his some of colleagues gave the suspect a chase and got him before he could escape.

They then descended on him, beating him to a pulp, before setting him on fire.
