Promise Olasehinde, 33, who is a trader living in Agege, Lagos State, is reportedly facing a 6-count charge of conspiracy, rape, assault, breach of peace, damages and stealing.

The offences were reportedly committed on December 27, around the Makinde/Salako St., Oshodi, area of Lagos State.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Clifford Ogu, revealed to the court that Mr Olasehinde, along with 12 other accomplices, who are still at large, had attacked the woman whose identity has been withheld, at about 10pm on the fateful day, stealing her properties.

Speaking on the case, Inspector Ogu said:

“They beat her, stole her gold necklace valued at N90,000 and N25,000 cash, damaged her Samsung Galaxy X4 phone valued at N47,000 and raped her.’’

Inspector Ogu went on to reveal that the culprits had been spotted on their way to committing the crime but only Mr Olasehinde had been apprehended with his accomplices still at large.

Mr Olasehinde pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him.
