A Ghanaian man who could not take that fact that his girlfriend has left him for good, decided to take away her beauty by pouring acid on her so that no man would desire her.

Daily Guide reports that the once pretty 37-year-old victim, Abena Konadu, a trader at the Bogoso market in the Western Region, has been disfigured after her ex-lover, identified as Philip Oppong, after he allegedly poured acid on her because Konadu called off their relationship.

After committing the heinous crime, Oppong, who is popularly called Badu or Akokyi, is said to be currently on the run.

It was gathered that Konadu used to be in a relationship with a different man in the area and had children with him but the relationship went sour following some problems and the two parted ways, before she met and fell in love with Oppong.

But the relationship did not know any peace as Oppong subjected Konadu to sever beatings anytime they had a disagreement. Unable to take more of it, she allegedly decided to end it with him and go back to her former boyfriend.

The jealous Oppong then trailed her to her house and bathed her with the substance, injuring her severely.

Before he ran away, the suspect allegedly said:

“You say you can't stay with me. I have made you blind and no one can marry you.”
