A journalist who wrote an article criticizing the Kaduna State government has been arrested on the orders of the governor.
According to a report by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), the journalist, Midat Joseph who is a reporter with Leadership Newspaper in the state, had written an article where he attacked the state government on the recent killings of indigenes in the southern parts of the state by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
Few days after the publication, security details said to be attached to the governor stormed Joseph's home in the early hours of today, April 20, 2017, and arrested him.
The NHRC in a tweet to let Nigerians know of the arrest of the journalist, say he was taken to an unknown destination where he is being held incommunicado.
This development, according to reports, has brought to six, the number of journalists arrested on the orders of the state governor since his assumption of office on May 2015.
