A young woman has been declared wanted by the Nigeria Police for allegedly being bisexual.
According to a 'Wanted Person' advertorial carried in the Daily Times Newspaper on April 28, a young lady identified as Chinyeaka Immaculata Onwuzurike, was declared wanted because she is bisexual.
Going by the advertorial put up by the Nigeria Police Force Division in Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, the police asked the public for relevant information regarding Onwuzurike's whereabouts so that she could be arrested.
The advertorial reads:
"This is to inform the general public that the bearer whose photograph and name is shown above is wanted for being involved in Bisexual Activities.
Anyone with relevant information about her whereabouts should report to:
The Nigeria Police Force, NAS, Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos."
Though the advertorial has created quite a buzz on social media, some are of the view that the young lady could have been the one who put up the advert with a view to using it to seek for an asylum in a European country so as to convince the foreign embassy that she is being persecuted.
Those who hold those view believe that Nigerians can go to any length to get an asylum, including claiming that they fear being killed over their sexual orientation.
