Former Central Bank Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has been officially crowned Emir of Kano in a coronation ceremony held today, February 7.

Sanusi has been presented with his staff of office by the king makers of the Emirate council signifying the official commencement of his reign.

The coronation ceremony was attended by All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, Former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon, the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar and Governors Ibrahim Gaidam, Kashim Shettima, Babangida Aliyu, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of Yobe, Borno, Niger and Kano States respectively.

Sanusi was appointed as Emir in June 2014 after being suspended from his position as CBN governor.
