Kogi State Governor-elect, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has been issued a certificate of return  by the Independent National Electoral Commission Lokoja, the state capital.

The representative of the INEC National Chairman, Professor Antonia Sibi, who presented the certificate to Bello, said INEC will continue to adhere to rules in organizing free, fair and credible poll.

Bello expressed his gratitude to the Kogi electorate for believing in him, assuring that he has come to develop the state and unite its people.

The Governor-Elect emerged winner in the December 5 polls under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress (APC), defeating incumbent Governor, Idris Wada of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

However, a section of the APC loyal to James Faleke - running mate to the late Abubakar Audu, is against Bello's candidacy.

Faleke, who has also become  the Deputy Governor-Elect has vowed not to make himself available for the swearing-in ceremony of the new administration in Kogi, insisting that he cannot work with Bello.

According to the APC National Chairman, John Adigie-Oyegun, the party will replace Faleke if need be.
