It's two years today since the creative industry lost one of its foremost film producers, writer, director and a leading player in the motion picture industry.

1. Amaka Igwe was born on January 2, 1963 in Port-Harcourt. She was the fifth child among seven children.

2. Amaka met her husband, Charles Igwe, in September 1992, and they got married in April 1993.

3. The late Amaka was a proud mother of three kids;  Ruby, David and Daniel.

4. Thanks to Amaka Igwe, Nigerians got to watch some interesting, entertaining and unforgettable TV series. The filmmaker wrote and produced "Checkmate," and its spin-off "Fuji House of Commotion."

6. The filmmaker was the founder of BOBTV Expo, Top Radio 90.9FM station, Amaka Igwe Studios, and Q Entertainment Networks.

7. She studied Education/Religion at the now Obafemi Awolowo University, before proceeding to get a master's degree in Library and Information Services from University of Ibadan.

9. On April 28, 2014, the filmmaker passed away after an asthmatic attack in Enugu,  where she had gone for a pre-production preparation for a new Igbo soap.

10. In 2011, she was awarded with the Nigerian National Order of 'MFR' (Member of The Federal Republic of Nigeria.
