The Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Victor Edoror, and his deputy, Bright Osayande have been impeached.

The two were removed from office on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, by 16 members of the assembly for “incompetence and gross misconduct”.

Details are still sketchy, but according to The Cable, an acting speaker in the person of Elizabeth Ative has been appointed.
