The Rivers State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Davies Ikanya, has escaped assassination after unknown gunmen reportedly stormed his residence in Port Harcourt.

The gunmen were said to have opened fire at the security operatives manning Ikanya’s house around 8.40pm.

At about 8.40pm on Monday, May 11, the gunmen were said to have opened fire at the security operatives manning Ikanya’s house at Herbert Macaulay Street, Amadi Flat in Old GRA.
The security men however repelled the attack, forcing the killers to retreat.
The incident was confirmed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmad Mohammad, but said he does not have details yet.
