INEC holds Langtang South Constituency bye-election February 11

INEC said that only the political parties that contested the 2015 election would feature in the bye-election.

In a statement signed by Mr Osaretin Imahireyereobo, its Deputy Director, Voter Education and Publicity, INEC said that only two of the three political parties that contested the 2015 election would feature in the bye-election.

“Only APC and Mega Progressives Peoples Party (MPPP) will vie for the seat; the PDP and its candidate have been disqualified,” the statement said.

The statement said that 400 trained adhoc staff, drawned from NYSC, tertiary institutions and INEC, would conduct the election to be supervised by FCT Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC).

He said that the election would hold in 68 polling units and 28 voting points.

NAN reports that the bye-election is sequel to a Federal High Court judgement which invalidated the victory of Vincent Bulus, then PDP candidate in the April 14 elections, after it was proved that he was an ex-convict.
