APC national chairman, Oyegun loses to PDP in Oredo

John Oyegun has reportedly lost his polling unit to PDP in the recently concluded Edo Governorship Election.

According to a report by Punch Newspaper, Oyegun, who casted his vote at about 10:45am at his Oredo polling unit on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 lost to the opposition Party in the keenly contested governorship election.

The report further revealed that the same feat was achieved during the 2015 Presidential election in the state which saw the national chairman losing his polling unit.

In his word after casting his vote, Oyegun had said: “I am pleasantly surprised because this is the best turnout I have ever experienced. I hope it presumes that something good is about to happen. People are keen to express their democratic options and democracy has become totally widespread. It is a very good thing. It has been peaceful so far.”

Osagie Ize-Iyamu, reportedly floored APC's Obaseki with nine votes at the end of voting, sorting and counting.

While Ize-Iyamu reportedly emerged with 78 votes, Obaseki trailed behind with 69 votes at the polling unit.

Oyegun and national leader of the APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu are currently on a war path with both parties getting sympathy from different zones of the ruling party nationwide.
