What to do while waiting

I once saw a message on a friends blackberry messenger status update - "when God blesses your neighbor, be happy because God is in your neighborhood."

I had to read it again, processed it to get the right understanding.

We sometimes get carried away with our challenges and the needs we have on our waiting lists and we forget we are meant to rejoice with those who are rejoicing.

Yes, it is very difficult to sit, smile and embrace someone's who's just been blessed with the same need you are praying for.

You are praying and hoping for a job and someone who doesn't have as much skills as you or hasn't waited as long as you have or doesn’t deserve it gets a great job.

Saying congratulations and sending good wishes would be the last thing on your mind. You have been trying to get that visa, year after year you get denied for no genuine reason and someone makes his first attempt and voila, he gets his passport back, stamped.

Those secret tears flow, anger wells up inside of you, depression sets in and you think God is partial and he has forgotten you or there's something that fellow is doing and you've to get your destiny in your hands and work things out.

We have to understand that everyone has his/her own destiny. We have different graces.

Yes, we might be more skilled, beautiful, talented, and prayerful or we might even fast more.

I have come to understand that everyone has a given time, if your time hasn't come, wait for it. If you're in your time now- enjoy it and be grateful. It doesn't mean you're better off; it’s just your season and God's grace.

Since that realization hit me, I have learnt to appreciate where I'm per time. I have also learnt to be content, and to rejoice with those who are being blessed with those things I'm trusting God for, because God is in my neighborhood.

Oh, yes, I have my moments but I find myself rejoicing and recounting past blessings and claiming God's promises on those areas I'm believing him to sort out.

Amazingly, God sets in just then. He restores my joy and I find myself in the right place.

Dear friends, when you feel you're falling and there's nothing to hold on to anymore, when you have no more tears to shed, when everyone around is getting it right and you feel like giving up, if there's one thing you need to know then, that one thing is that 'GOD'S GOT YOU.'

God’s got you, dear friend. He knows, hears, sees, feels it all and in his time; that time no one can change or take away, he'll show up and show up strong.

It doesn't matter how bad it may look now: delays in life, bad debts, failing business, failures, etc. God's got you and he'll show up big time; you'll not face shame and that waiting will not be for long.

I have seen him do it.

Hold on, genuinely rejoice with others, keep praying and praising, don't relent in doing good and we would soon rejoice with you.
