The Police in Kano on Wednesday arraigned a 21-year-old unemployed man, Salisu Hashimu, in a Sharia Court for house breaking and theft.

Magawata said the suspect dishonestly walked into the complainant’s house and made away with five different types of cell phones, earrings and bangles and N10, 000 from his pocket.

Hashimu was arraigned for the two offences that contravened sections 346 and 287 of the Penal Code.
Cpl. Ahmed Magawata told the Shari’a court sitting at Sabon Gari, Kano, that on June 25, one Mahmud Ado of Tarauni quarters, Kano, reported the matter to Farm Centre Police Division, Kano.
When the charges were read out to the accused, he pleaded guilty.
The presiding judge, Malam Abubakar Ayagi, ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the matter to July 3, for continuation of the case.
