“The Burden of Buhari” shows at festival [Photos]

The director uncovers the man leading the country through interviews with his friends, colleagues and family.

The 2015 Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) currently on-going in Lagos has seen several documentaries and short films from Nigeria and the rest of the continent put on display for members of the public.

Buhari And The Burden of Expectations” was presented yesterday evening, November 11, 2015 at the Genesis Deluxe Cinemas at The Palms, Lagos.

The documentary about the Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari was produced, written and co-directed by Ireti Bakare-Yusuf. The feature is about the Buhari. The director uncovers the man leading the country through interviews with his friends, colleagues and family.

Bakare-Yusuf said she was inspired to create this documentary because she wanted to know more about the President. She said the idea came to her while she was watching him and she wanted to know if he if he had a belly laugh.
