PDP congratulates Governor over Supreme Court victory

The apex court on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, upheld the election of Dickson as Governor of Bayelsa state.

 

The PDP spokesman, Dayo Adeyeye said the ruling of the Supreme Court has shown that the people of Bayelsa freely gave their mandate to the Governor.

Adeyeye also said it has “confirmed the mandate freely given to the PDP and its candidate in Bayelsa State, and also show that the State of Bayelsa is totally for the PDP.

“We also appreciate the Judiciary for serving justice in the face of intimidation and harassment by the Executive and its instruments of coercion against the rule of law.

“Finally, we commend the people of Bayelsa State for standing firm with our party and the Governor during this period, while urging the Governor to continue with his people oriented programmes in the state.”

Bayelsa Governor, Seriake Dickson also commended the judiciary for upholding his election.
