President holds crucial meeting with Jega, service chiefs

The meeting, which started at 11am today, March 17, is holding inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

President Goodluck Jonathan has called a crucial meeting which has the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jega and Nigeria’s service chiefs in attendance.

The meeting, which started at 11am, is holding inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Jega is expected to inform attendees of the meeting on INEC’s preparations for the upcoming general elections.

The security chiefs are also expected to brief the meeting on the success of the anti-terrorism war.

The meeting also has in attendance Vice President, Namadi Sambo, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Pius Anyim, National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, Attorney-General of the Federation, Muhammed Adoke (SAN) and the Minister of Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan among others.

All the service chiefs; Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Kenneth Minimah, Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu and Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Suleiman Abba; are in attendance
