‘I just went to rest’, APC candidate denies ill-health reports

Buhari stated this in response to claims made by members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that he had travelled to the UK to receive treatment for a secret ailment.

The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari has denied reports that he is suffering from ill-health.

Buhari stated this in response to claims made by members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that he had travelled to the UK to receive treatment for a secret ailment.

The former Head of State left Nigeria for London on Thursday, February 19.

“I just went off for a couple of weeks to rest. That’s all I did”, Buhari said while addressing journalists in Abuja upon his return to Nigeria on Friday, March 6.

Upon being asked whether he visited the hospital while in the UK, Buhari answered:

“What is wrong for me to go the hospital? Am I not here now? Aren’t you seeing me? Are you seeing a sick man?”

The APC candidate also spoke on his appearance at Chatham House.

“I went to Chatham House. I read an address and there was a question and answer session. That’s all,” he said.

Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State and the spokesperson for the PDP campaign organization, Femi Fani-Kayode have alleged that Buhari is not in good health.
