Police arrest man with INEC registration materials

The man was caught with INEC Permanent Voter Cards and registers.

An elderly man in possession of registration materials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been arrested by Police in Oyo State.

The culprit was apprehended around Olorunsogo area in Ona Ara Local Government. He was caught with INEC Permanent Voter Cards and registers.

The Oyo State Police Commissioner, Mohammed Katsina, said that the arrest was made following some intelligent tip-off.

Katsina said that the arrest would serve as a deterrent to potential offenders that the Police will not hesitate to bring anyone, caught in unlawful acts, to book.

The suspect admitted that the registers were given to him on Friday morning by a party member.
