Okon, who stated this on Friday - before the handing over ceremony to newly elected officials at the party's secretariat in Calabar, advised the new Chairman to source funds elsewhere.
He said Edim and his team should source funds for party's activities from personal contacts with members in the national, state assembly and other elected representatives.
Okon noted that the party is enjoying good patronage in the state as a result of the synergy built by various administrations over the years. He urged the Edim-led executive to leverage on the synergy that has made the party the choice of the electorate over the years.
“You should note that the PDP does not have budget in Cross River appropriation. So, you will have to source for your funds. You should go to the state and national assembly members to source for funds.
“It is the first in the history of the state PDP that an outgoing (chairman) will be meeting with the incoming (one). It shows the party has synergy in the state," he said.
He charged the new leadership to improve on the party's successes and urged the officers not to let the party down.
