‘Nobody has asked me to refund any money,’ SDP Chairman says

Falae said it is left for Anenih to clear himself, adding that the money he received was based on a political alliance between the SDP and PDP.

Chief Olu Falae

The Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Olu Falae, has said the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has not asked him to refund any money.

Falae  reportedly confessed to collecting N100 million from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Tony Anenih to help campaign for former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The money the SDP leader received, has been linked to the $2.1b arms scandal involving the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki.

Punch Newspapers reports that the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation said  “PDP gave me money and I gave the money to the SDP, which has confirmed receipt of the money. No one has asked me to return any money.”

Adding that “I did not tell anyone that I was asked to return money. The reports showed great bias towards me.”

In a reaction to the comment made by its Chairman saying he gave the money to SDP, the Ogun state chapter of the  Party denied receiving any money from their leader.

You will recall that the EFCC asked those who received money from Dasuki to refund it.

Sambo Dasuki has been under investigation, after it was revealed by a committee set up by President Buhari to probe the sale of arms since 2007, that over $2b meant for the purchase of arms was misappropriated.
