Ex-governor Orji Uzoh Kalu wins Abia North senatorial election

Former governor of Abia, Dr. Orji Uzoh Kalu, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of the Abia North senatorial election.

The APC candidate got 30,580 to defeat his closest opposition from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, who polled 21,940 votes.

Kalu who served as Abia State state governor between 1999 to 2007 was declared winner by the returning officer for the senatorial election, Dr. Charles Anumodu.
