Governor Akinwunmi Ambode

According to reports, Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode will likely unveil his cabinet this week.

Ambode is expected to reveal the list of appointees by Tuesday, September 22, 2015, according to Daily Independent.

An unnamed source told Daily Independent that the appointments by the governor will take into consideration the various political, ethnic and religious interests in the state.

“Lagosians should expect the very best from the governor, I can assure you on that. It took him over three months to make his selection, despite criticism from many quarters, especially the opposition.  Now that he is ready, I believe Lagosians will agree that the wait is worth it at the end of the day,” the source said.

Ambode has been severely criticized for his performance in his first 100 days of office which the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state has described as poor.

The governor also faced backlash on social media after some Nigerians accused him of being too busy “turning-up” to do any actual work.
