‘FG could not employ graduates in October due to some hitches,’ VP says

The Vice President also revealed that 200,000 graduates have been selected for the Federal Government scheme.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo

Osinbajo attributed the delay in engaging them, to the unavailability of the mobile devices meant for the graduates, Punch reports.

Speaking to newsmen, Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, said “The programme should have commenced as at October 31, 2016, but is delayed on account of the fact that we are trying to get as many of the equipment that we require.”

Osinbajo also stated that N-Power was put together as a volunteer scheme that will “create temporary opportunities for  young graduates, to at least be doing  something  and many of them would be volunteer  teachers, health officials and extension workers, who will earn a stipend.”
