President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Patrick Ziakede Akpobolokemi.

News of Akpobolokemi’s sack was disclosed on Thursday, July 16, 2015, by Buhari’s media aide, Femi Adesina.

“He is to hand over the management of NIMASA and all government property in his possession to the most senior officer in the agency who will remain in charge until a new Director-General is appointed,” Adesina said in a statement
Akpobolokemi’s sack takes immediate effect.
