123 terrorists killed in Cameroon

Three Chadian soldiers were killed while 12 others were left wounded in the battle with the insurgents which occurred in Northern Cameroon.

123 members of terrorist sect, Boko Haram have been killed in Cameroon, military officials say.

Three Chadian soldiers were killed while 12 others were left wounded in the battle with the insurgents which occurred in Northern Cameroon, AFP reports.

Chad had deployed a contingent of its troops to Cameroon on January 17 to help in the fight against Boko Haram incursions into the latter country.

A statement released by Chad’s military revealed that the attack occurred near the border town of Fotokol on Thursday, January 29 and Friday, 30.

“The enemy was repelled by our defensive forces,” the statement said, adding that the terrorists were "routed" by troops in the second attack.

Chad recently recaptured Malumfator, a Nigerian town in Borno State, from Boko Haram.
