Bakassi Strike Force (BSF) has taken over the running of two Local Government Areas in Cross River state, according to reports.
Guardian reports that the militants have been terrorising indigenes of Bakassi and Akpabuyo Local Government Areas.
Traditional rulers have reportedly abandoned their domains because of the dreaded militant group.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, July 8, 2016, on the development, the state Governor, Ben Ayade said “We are coming after them. We know all the militants who are now parading and taking full occupation of Bakassi. We would free the people of Bakassi. The three kingpins, I know. We have identified their homes. We have a clear picture of their modus operandi and we are working on a massive attack. I speak as the United States does. They let you know that they are coming for you and they come after you.”
The Bakassi Strike Force (BSF) recently called on the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) to stop blowing up pipelines.
