Following the resignation of the former President of Guatemala, Otto Perez Molina, a new President has been sworn in.

Fox news reports that Moldonado was sworn in while the former President was in court facing charges of corruption.

He is a 79-year-old former Judge, Alejandro Maldonado.
He will serve as President of Guatemala, till Molina's tenure ends.
Speaking after his swearing in ceremony, Moldonado said “The new government must emerge from the need to inspire citizens’ confidence, opening a space in public service for mature and experienced people but also young professionals and social activists.”
The ex-Judge has reached out to protesters, asking them to be patient, while promising to run a government free of corruption.
