Nigerians react to Supreme Court’s dismissal of governor’s case

The tribunal had, on October 24, nullified Wike’s victory in the April 11 governorship election and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a re-run.

 

The Supreme Court, today, October 27, 2015, dismissed a case filed by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike challenging the jurisdiction of the state’s election petition tribunal to decide on matters which occurred in the state while sitting in Abuja.

The tribunal had, on October 24, nullified Wike’s victory in the April 11 governorship election and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a re-run.
