Saraki asks Oshiomhole to resign from politics

Saraki said this following allegations that the APC chairman received bribes from candidates to influence the results of the party’s primaries.

Senate President Bukola Saraki

He said “That must be a joke coming from Oshiomole talking about moral ground. I think Oshiomole has no locus standi to talk about morality today. Oshiomole is somebody, who we have been told had been collecting not even Naira but dollars from candidates and he is being accused by his party’s aspirants and Governors. I don’t think he has any moral ground, even to continue to be in politics not to talk about being a Chairman of a party.

“I remember in those days even Oyegun, they never accused him of something like this. I have left that party. I’m sure the President, based on integrity, knows the right thing to do. So, on moral ground, he cannot speak on moral ground.”

According to The Cable, Oshiomhole was detained by the DSS on Sunday, November 4, 2018.

The APC chairman was reportedly grilled for nine hours based on petitions written against him by some Governors.

The Governor alleged that he received bribes to manipulate the just concluded APC primaries across the country.

Oshiomhole reacts

In his reaction on Saturday, November 10, 2018, the APC chairman said he was neither arrested nor detained.

According to him, “The conversation centred around APC primaries. The question now is whether or not it is the DSS job to interfere in a political party’s issues. And if there’s an allegation of corruption, it is the responsibility of EFCC and ICPC.”

Saraki had earlier accused Oshiomhole of starting a civil war that has left the ruling party confused and disorganised.
