APC says it has nothing to do with DSS invasion of national assembly

APC has denied being behind the invasion of the national assembly by the DSS.

The invasion has been interpreted as a move by the governing APC to commence impeachment proceedings against Senate President Bukola Saraki who defected to the PDP on July 31.

But the APC says its hands are clean on the unsavoury developments at the national assembly.

“Our attention has been drawn to mischievous attempts in some partisan quarters to link Tuesday’s developments in the National Assembly to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole”, Mr. Yekini Nabena who is the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, wrote in a statement sent to Pulse.

“While the Party is monitoring the developments in the National Assembly like every other concerned Nigerian and stakeholder, there is absolutely no basis for all the false allegations and attempt to blame the APC National Chairman for the development there. It is strictly a legislative matter”, the statement added.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajohas fired the Director General of the DSS,Lawal Musa Daura, over the development.
