The appellate court on Wednesday, November 23, ordered INEC to replace Ibrahim of the Ali Sheriff faction of the PDP with Eyitayo Jegede of the Ahmed Makarfi faction.
The three-man panel of the appeal court set aside a ruling of the Federal High Court by Justice Okon Abang which declared Ibrahim the candidate of PDP.
The court described Abang's ruling as "virulent attitudinal disposition to the rule of law."
INEC, however, said the appeal court judgement vindicated its earlier stand that Jegede is the rightful PDP candidate.
