President-elect relocates to government-owned building

Buhari reportedly moved into the building on Tuesday, April 21, and is expected to use it till May 28, 2015.

 

President-elect Muhammadu Buhari has moved into the Defence House, a government-owned complex in Maitama, Abuja, reports say.

The President-elect will be sworn-in on May 29, 2015 and will then relocate to the Presidential Villa after his inauguration.

The spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign organization, Garba Shehu confirmed that Buhari had indeed been working from the Defence House.

“Yes, the Defence House was handed over a few days ago after its renovation,” Shehu said.

The Defence House is one of the President’s guest houses and it is located opposite the Legacy House, which is currently serving as the campaign headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
