Rep accuses DSS of assassination plot

Now, as if that is not enough, residents of these states are no longer guaranteed of their safety.

Leader of the Akwa Ibom State caucus in the House of Representatives , Hon. Emmanuel Ekon addressed newsmen, on the alleged invasion of the Government house by operatives of the Department of State Security(DSS).

Ekon said "As a person, I am tempted to believe that the DSS went there to kill the governor of Akwa Ibom State and then lay the blame on unknown gunmen after the operation. As a citizen of this country, I am calling on all democrats to rise up to the occasion. We have never had it this bad.”

While describing the incident as an illegal invasion, he said “Now, as if that is not enough, residents of these states are no longer guaranteed of their safety. It has progressed up to the point that last week, the constitutionally elected governor of Akwa Ibom State, Emmanuel Udom was violated by the political tool called DSS. They invaded the Government House in Uyo without a search warrant.”

Adding that “Before you carry out a search, you must have a search warrant. They are supposed to have two neutral people to observe. In this case, none of those provisions were observed. The DSS broke in forcefully and carried out their illegal operation.”
