FCT Minister to 'punish' violent politicians

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello has vowed to punish all politicians and their followers who engaged in violence.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Muhammad Sule Hazat, the minister said all perpetrators of the political violence that led to the attack of opponents in Abaji Area Councils would be arrested and be made to face the full wrath of the law.

“I have already directed the Security Agencies to ensure that all those involved irrespective of their political lining be arrested as the law would take it full course” Bello said.

The minister who insisted that the FCT Area Councils’ elections must be conducted peacefully, urged all politicians to warn their members not to be involved in violence.

“The FCT Administration would partner with all stakeholders to ensure that there is no breakdown of law and order in any part of the Federal Capital Territory” the statement said.
