The Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on Public Affairs, Doyin Okupe has said that the Nigerian leader bears similarities to Jesus Christ.

Okupe said this during an interview on Channels TV’s "Sunrise Daily" where he added that Jonathan is bearing ‘everybody’s burdens.’

“People do not understand the burden this president is bearing. He’s like Jesus Christ. He’s bearing the burden of everybody” Okupe said

The presidential aide reportedly added that it is impossible for Jonathan to lose the 2015 presidential elections.

Okupe also spoke on Boko Haram, saying that the fight against terrorism was being stalled by external forces and when asked about the erratic power situation in the country, he said “power is a problem.”

"In the power situation, we are not there yet. We are definitely on a road that cannot change,” he said.
