‘President will win again if he contests election,’ Femi Adesina says

Many Nigerians who voted for Buhari have expressed regret over the action due to the current economic hardship in the country.

President Muhammadu Buhari

Adesina however said that Buhari has done well and would “win and win again and again.”

He made the comment while appearing on Channels TV’s “Sunday Politics.”

“That would depend on Nigerians, but if you ask me as an individual, I will say, yes, the president can win and win again and again,” Adesina said when asked if Buhari could win an election today.

Adesina also spoke on calls for Buhari’s resignation by suspended lawmaker, Abdulmumin Jibrin.

“So, if he thinks the president can’t do the job, it is just his opinion. One vote didn’t bring the president to power. Over 15 million Nigerians voted for the president into office, so one person cannot say he should quit. So what he has said is his opinion and he has a right to it,” Adesina said.

Jibrin urged Buhari to resign due to his near inactivity after returning from a 49-day medical vacation in London.
