A source who spoke to Vanguard said  “The former governor was here to put in a word for Melaye, you know the tribunal matter is still there and judgment is only a few days away.”

The source also said “Also note that some of our leaders are not taking the “threat” to make things difficult for our nominees lightly. For now, the party leadership cannot meet with the Senate President for obvious reasons.”

Melaye on his part, said “What has the party got to go with the tribunal case? This is my party’s national secretariat and I can come here anytime. As for the election petition, God go win.”
