Police obtains CCTV footage of ex-PDP Chairman's son's last moments

The police in the FCT says it has retrieved the CCTV footage detailing the last moments of the ex-PDP chairman's son allegedly stabbed to death by his wife.

Recall that the younger Bello was reportedly killed by his jealous wife after she saw a text message on his phone believed to have been sent to him by a mistress on Sunday, November 19, 2017.

According to a police source, the CCTV footage was recovered at the residence of the deceased as well as his security guards arrested over the incident.

“We have been able to obtain the footage and it shows the suspect and three private security guards conveying him into a vehicle from where he was rushed to a hospital,” the police source said.

Confirming the information, the FCT Police spokesman, Anjuguri Manzah, said more suspects had been apprehended in connection with the matter.

“I know that some suspects have been arrested, but I don’t know their identity. I can’t confirm that the CCTV footage has been obtained, but it may be part of evidence gathering to assist in the investigation.”

Also recall that a family friend of the victim, Habib Gaiam, had alleged that Maryam had threatened to cut off her husband’s private parts during a quarrel hours before she allegedly stabbed him to death.

Gaiam, in a series of tweets, narrated how the whole incident happened and how many family members and friends had tried to intervene in the couple's quarrels and how Bello had been warned several times to leave her due to her violent nature but he always refused, saying he could handle the matter.
