EFCC fails to produce governor, sons in court

Lamido was reportedly arrested along with his sons, Aminu and Mustapha, on Tuesday, July 7, 2015.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has failed to produce former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido in court after it accused him of money laundering.

Lamido was reportedly arrested along with his sons, Aminu and Mustapha, on Tuesday, July 7, 2015.

EFCC legal Director, Achile Okoroma told journalists at the Federal High Court premises in Kano that Lamido and his sons couldn’t be produced due to their flight from Abuja being cancelled.

Okoroma however said that “barring any last minute change, Sule Lamido and his sons would be arranged Thursday”.

The EFCC also announced on Wednesday, July 8, that it had taken former Governors, Ikedi Ohakim of Imo and Murtala Nyako of Adamawa into custody.
