In Zamfara Senator donates cash, foodstuff to victims of bandits’ attack

A Zamfara Senator has donated bags of grains as well as cash to victims of attacks by bandits in some villages.

The Senator representing Zamfara Central, Alhaji Kabiru Marafa, has donated 300 bags of assorted grains and cash to victims of attacks by bandits in Bindin village of Maru local Government Area of the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the armed bandits had attacked and killed over 40 people and injured many in the village.

The Chairman of the senator’s Relief and Assistance Committee, Alhaji Ahmad Mai’aya, said on Wednesday in Gusau that the committee had visited the village and sympathised with the victims on behalf of the senator.

“And we have collaborated with the district head of the area and the Chairman of Maru Local Government and listed out the families who will benefit from the assistance.

“We have identified 47 beneficiaries including the families of the deceased and injured persons.

“Each of the deceased families will be given five bags of food items and N15,000 each, while the injured persons will be given 2 bags of food items and N5,000 each,” Mai’aya said.

He appealed to other political office holders in the state to emulate the senator by providing programmes to improve the socio-economic lives of the people.
