Courts resume work as JUSUN suspends 6-month strike

A NAN correspondent who visited some of the courts reports that the workers were seen busy cleaning dust and filth that piled the premises during the strike. The state Chairman of JUSUN, Mr Babagurin Abbo, said the strike was called off following a commitment from the state government. "This government being a new one we will give it the benefit of doubt," Abbo said.

Adamawa courts resume work as JUSUN suspends 6-month strike

Work has resumed in courts across Adamawa as judicial workers in the state suspended their six months old strike, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN reports). The suspension followed a meeting between the State Government and officials of the state branch of the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN).

The state Chairman of JUSUN, Mr Babagurin Abbo, said the strike was called off following a commitment from the state government. "This government being a new one we will give it the benefit of doubt," Abbo said.

Abbo said the government has agreed that the released of personnel emolument and overhead cost would be effected from July, while capital expenditure would be released by August. "Government wrote a commitment that it will communicate to Accountant General of the Federation to start releasing the fund standing to the credit of Judiciary in Adamawa state through the NJC with effect from July," Abbo said.
