Emmanuel Ojo Blogger allegedly sues Ogun Gov., Ibikunle Amosun

The blogger is asking for a declaration that his right to personal liberty, freedom of movement and dignity of his person guaranteed under Section 34, 35 and 41(1) of the 1999 Constitution.

Reports say Mr. Emmanuel Ojo, the blogger who was arrested for allegedly defaming the wife of the Ogun state Governor, Olufunso Amosun, has sued the Governor of Ogun state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

Mr. Ojo is demanding for N150 million as damages.

According to Sahara Reporters, Ojo is asking for “an order of perpetual injunction restraining the respondents from arresting and or detaining him solely on account of alleged publication against Mrs Amosun.”

Sahara Reporters also said the blogger is asking for a declaration that his  “right to personal liberty, freedom of movement and dignity of his person guaranteed under Section 34, 35 and 41(1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, were violated by the respondents, their servants and/agents who arrested and detained him in Abeokuta, Ogun State.”

The case was filed in the Federal High Court, Abeokuta Division by his counsel Ayodeji Eniseyin.
