The clarification came through a statement issued in Ilorin on Tuesday by the state Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu.

Alhaji Banu said the Federal Government is currently reconciling claims submitted by states and will inform beneficiary states once the process is completed.

Stressing that the payments are in installments, Alhaji Banu said the amount to be released to the state will be made known only after the federal government completes the verification of claims.

While expressing optimism that the funds will be released to the state soon, the commissioner said the state government has on its part complied with all requirements specified by the Federal Ministry of Finance for the next installment of the refund.

Alhaji Banu, therefore, urged the public to ignore speculations on the issue as the state government will inform the public once the funds are received in line with its existing commitment to transparency.
