New movie finally hits cinemas, bags 8 BON awards

What Lies Within also got nods for Movie with the Best Editing, Movie with the Best Cinematography, Movie of the Year, Movie with the Best Screenplay and more.

Back-breaking Nollywood drama thriller, What Lies Within begins its cinema run across Nigeria this weekend just as it bagged eight award nominations at the Best Of Nollywood Awards.

The movie which was produced by the three young talented filmmakers Tope Tedela, Paul Utomi and Vanessa Nzediegwu is tipped to dominate the forth coming Best Of Nollywood Awards with the biggest nominations.

For their scintillating roles, lead actress, Michelle Dede and her co-star, Paul Utomi bagged nominations as Best Actress in Leading Role (English) and Best Actor in a Leading Role (English), respectively.

The multi-tasking co-producer of the movie, Vanessa Nzediegwu also got nomination for Director of the Year. What Lies Within also got nods for Movie with the Best Editing, Movie with the Best Cinematography, Movie of the Year, Movie with the Best Screenplay and Movie with the Best Special Effect.

The movie is a suspense-filled romantic drama thriller that chronicles 24 hours in the lives of two women as they are thrust into the centre of an incident that could have far reaching consequences on their lives and loves ones. The movie touches on theme violence, trauma and betrayal.

Directed by Vanessa Nzediegwu, the movie features a versatile cast that includes of Michelle Dede, Kiki Omeili, Paul Utomi, Ken Erics Ugo, Okey Uzoeshi, Tope Tedela, Vanessa Nzediegwu, Odenike, Ebele Okaro with Yaw playing a cameo.

The movie was well received by an excited crowd at a colourful premiere that held at the Genesis Deluxe cinemas.

It attracted some heavyweights such as former minister, Femi Fani-kayode, Precious Chikwendu, Rita Dominic, Chidi Mokeme, Femi Odugbemi, KC Ejeleonu, Nancy Isime, Judith Audu, Zara Udofia, Salami Rotimi, Ashionye Michelle Raccah, Ini Dima Okojie and culture advocate, Jahman Anikulapo.
