Veteran South African actor is dead

Sandy Mokwena was popular for his role as Bra Eddie Khumalo in South African TV series, "Scandal."

South African actor, Sandy Mokwena, popularly known as Bra Eddie, is dead.

The actor, who was most popular for his role in the e.tv’s popular weekday  series, "Scandal," died on Wednesday, January 24, 2018.

Aged 68, the actor passed away due to natural causes. According to e.tv publicist Michael Pocock, the actor was ill, but his health didn't "raise alarms" at the time.

The longest running actor on "Scandal", Mokwena made his debut on the show in 2005.

A renowned theatre actor, Mokwena was fluent in five South African languages.

His other roles include Cappie the narrator on the play " ," which played on four continents, including theatres in West End Street in London, and New York City.

Mokwena's first movie role was in the 1992-movie "Taxi to Soweto." His other roles include "Generations," "Khululeka," "Soul City,"  and "Going Up."
