The 76-year-old actor, known for his role as the Terminator, assured his fans that his recovery was going well and would not affect his professional plans.
Schwarzenegger, who previously served as California's governor, revealed information about his health a few days ago on his Arnold's Pump Club podcast. In his characteristically joking tone, the actor said, "I underwent surgery to become a little more of a machine: I had a pacemaker implanted." He thus referred to his iconic role as a cybernetic assassin from the future.
Schwarzenegger's surgery will not affect his further work
The actor assured fans that he was doing great. He emphasised that just a few days after the procedure he attended an event with Jane Fonda.
On social media, Schwarzenegger expressed gratitude for the numerous words of support he received from fans from all over the world. He also assured that the implanted pacemaker would not affect the production of the second season of the series Fubar, in which he appears.
"I'll be ready to start filming in April," he added.
Schwarzenegger was born with a heart defect - a bicuspid aortic valve. The actor has previously undergone heart surgery in 1997, 2018 and 2020.
The premiere of the first season of the series Fubar mentioned by Schwarzenegger took place in May 2023 on Netflix . It's a story full of action and humour about a family with a group of spies in the background.
